Obituary for Donna M. "Dee Dee" Leonard

Donna M. "Dee Dee" Leonard, 60, of 9 Davidson Ave., formerly of 55 S. Race St., both Greenville, passed away in her home, following a long battle with cancer, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

She was born in Youngstown, OH on December 7, 1958 to the late Donald F. and Margaret A. (Hanna) Myers.

Donna attended Lakeview High School and earned her GED on December 18, 1999.

She worked as a grill cook for over 20 years in the area, most notably the Greenville Dinor and Paxton's. She also worked as a seamstress for 50 years, mostly from her home, but more recently at Kathy's Kreations in downtown Greenville.

Donna had been recently attending the Greenville Alliance Church.

She was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the Greenville Moose Club, and the Moose Riders Club.

On October 14, 2000, she was adopted into the United Eastern Lenope Nation, and she enjoyed camping and Native American pow wow's.

Donna was married to Donald R. "Butch" Leonard, Sr. on April 1, 2005 and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2017. She was previously married to Terry L. Budetich, who also preceded her in death.

Donna is survived by: two daughters, Laleta Harshbarger and her companion, Paul "Putter" of Greenville, and Rosanna Homer with whom she resided; two granddaughters who lived with her and that she loved to take care of, Jaycee and Avacyn; a step daughter, Anita Holloway and her husband, Milton Dean, and their children, Maurice, Bradyn, & Dayne, of Brookfield, OH; a grandson she helped raise, Andrew Kell; eight other step children and multiple step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; three nieces that she helped raise, Jennifer, Margaret, & Christine; five brothers, Howard Myers and his wife, Phyllis, of Warrenton, MO, Randall Myers, Sr. and his companion, Vikki, of Newell, WV, Thomas Myers, Sr. and his wife, Joy, of New Wilmington, PA, John Myers and his companion, Marsha, of Newell, WV, and Dale Myers and his companion, Paula, of Greenville; a sister, Virginia Blair of Greenville; two special friends, Penny Galus and her companion, Brian Mitchelltree, and Dustin Richardson, who helped her throughout her illness and was like a son to her, all of Greenville; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a great-great niece, Phoenyx.

She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Rosemary Myers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018, from 1:00 pm - 3:45 pm at Osborne-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 73-75 Columbia Ave., Greenville, where a funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm with Bill Myers, of Stoneboro, and cousin of the deceased, officiating. A Native American ceremony will be presented by Cherokee ministers Spyder and Tekakwitha Webb. Cremation will follow the service.
